Indications:

This combination of ingredients (as eardrops) is used for the relief of external ear inflammation and infections (otitis externa) and fungal infections of the outer ear (otomycosis).This combination of ingredients (as cream) is used for the relief of inflammation and itching due to skin conditions such as contact or allergic dermatitis (eczema) or seborrheic dermatitis, which also have bacteria or fungus infecting the skin.

Contraindications:

This medication (as eardrops) should not be used by anyone who: * has a punctured eardrum * has pre-existing tuberculosis of the skin, fungal, or viral infections of the skin (e.g., chickenpox, skin eruptions following vaccination, herpex simplex, herpes zoster) * is allergic to corticosteroids, iodine, clioquinol, flumethasone pivalate, hydroxyquinolines or quinolone derivatives, or any of the ingredients of the medication * is under two years of age. This medication(as cream) should not be used by anyone who: * has pre-existing tuberculosis of the skin, fungal, or viral infections of the skin (e.g., chickenpox, skin eruptions following vaccination, herpex simplex, herpes zoster) * has rosacea, acne vulgaris, or dermatitis around the mouth * has open wounds or ulcerated areas on the skin * is allergic to corticosteroids, iodine, clioquinol, flumethasone pivalate, hydroxyquinolines or quinolone derivatives, or any of the ingredients of the medication * is under two years of age

Adverse reactions:

* More common: yellow staining of the skin, nails, hair, or fabrics * Less common or rare: bleaching of skin * burning, dryness, irritation, itching, or redness of skin (usually mild and temporary) in the area where it wsa applied * increased redness or scaling of skin sores (usually mild and temporary) in the area where it wsa applied * skin rash (usually mild and temporary) in the area where it wsa applied Check with your doctor as soon as possible if any of the following side effects occur: * Less common or rare: blood-containing blisters on skin (in the area where it wsa applied) * burning and itching of skin (in the area where it wsa applied) * increased skin sensitivity (in the area where it wsa applied) * lack of healing of outer ear infection * raised, dark-red, wart-like spots on skin (in the area where it wsa applied) * thinning of skin (in the area where it was applied)

Interactions:

Other medications that contain corticosteroids or that have irritating effects may increase the risk of side effects or affect how flumethasone - clioquinol work.

Warnings:

Pregnancy and breast-feeding: The safety of flumethasone - clioquinol (eardrops or cream) during pregnancy or breast-feeding has not been established.
