Egyptian Health Ministry Denies Vaccinating Children in Their Homes

(ePharmaNews) – The ministry of health in Egypt denied holding campaigns to vaccinate children inside their houses. The statement was released in face of rumors that said that "suspected" sources had been giving "harmful" vaccinations to children inside their houses claiming that they were a part of an official campaign launched by the health ministry.

 

Dr.Amr Qandeel, the head of preventive medicine department within the ministry, asserted that all campaigns launched by the ministry should be fully declared in ahead; whether it was national or local, and that all official teams wear a special uniform and hold the IDs issued by the ministry.
 
"The national campaigns for vaccinating children in the meanwhile are exclusively performed within the official centers, and all of them are safe and compatible with WHO recommendations" Published on the Egyptian ministry of health's website.
 
The ministry stressed that any person should report any suspected activities regarding offers for vaccinations from unauthorized personnel.
 
Finally, no reported cases have been documented regarding this issue.
